Chairman of the Committee on Planning and Budget and AK Party (Justice and Development Party) Deputy of Bingöl, Cevdet Yılmaz graduated from Middle East Technical University, Department of Public Administration. He completed his Master’s degree at the International Relations Department of Denver University in the USA and his doctorate at Bilkent University, Department of Political Science and Public Administration. He assumed the position of Undersecretary for the State Planning Organization and was appointed for the Directorate General of EU Relations. He was also a member of the Center for EU Education and Youth Programmes Department of Monitoring and Evaluation and the Board of Directors of ATAUM and National Agency. He was elected as the Deputy of Bingöl in the 23rd, 24th, 26th and 27th terms, and Diyarbakır in the 25th term. Yılmaz served as the President of the Turkish Delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and member of the EU-Türkiye Joint Parliamentary Commission. He was appointed as the Minister of State responsible for The Southeastern Anatolia Project (GAP) and Eastern Anatolia Project (DAP) in the 60th Government, as the Minister of Development in the 61st, 62nd and 64th Governments, and in the 63rd Government, he was appointed as Deputy Prime Minister. Since 2020, he has been serving as the Chairman of the Planning and Budget Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye.
