Principal Member of Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA) and Dean of Istanbul University Faculty of Political Sciences, Ayşegül Komsuoğlu Çıtıpıtıoğlu graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Economics, Department of International Relations. In 1997, she started her postgraduate education and working as a research assistant at the Faculty of Economics, Department of International Relations. She obtained her PhD in 2003, became an associate professor in 2009, and a professor in 2014. Having studies on political sociology and Turkish political life, Prof. Komsuoğlu has recently focused on migration studies. She has been a visiting professor at Emory University and the University of California, Berkeley. Prof. Komsuoğlu was appointed as the Dean of Istanbul University Faculty of Political Sciences in 2017. She was selected as a TÜBA Principal Member in 2017.
