Having received his Bachelor’s and Masters’ degree at Istanbul University’s School of Business Administration, Numan Kurtulmuş earned his PhD on Economics. He conducted his academic studies at Cornell University in the USA. He became Associate Professor in 1994 and Professor in 2004. He gave lectures on social politics and human resource management at Istanbul University’s School of Business Administration for years. His active political career started in 1998, he joined the AK Party (Justice and Development Party) in 2012. He served as the Deputy Chairman of AK Party, Deputy Prime Minister, Government Spokesperson and the Minister of Culture and Tourism. He is currently holding the position of AK Party Acting Chairman.
